2022 Examination Performance
After two years without exams and the disruption of lockdowns and covid absence no-one could know how successful students would be in their exams, particularly given the extended lockdown Leicester families suffered, compared to the rest of the country.
We were delighted with the results our students achieved. Schools were told that results would be lower than in 2021 but at Beaumont Leys our results were in line with, and in many cases higher, than in 2021 thanks to the hard work and determination of our staff and students.
If ever there was a time when ‘Together we achieve success” was true, this was it!

Attainment 8
Attainment 8 is a measure of how students did across 8 key subjects.
This year our Attainment 8 is not really comparable to previous years because our students do an exam in Year 10 and the rules this year mean that, although the grade counts for students, it does not count for the school results as it was done under the Teacher Assessed Grades system. Therefore our students have a grade missing from their Attainment 8 which reduces it.

Progress 8
Progress 8 is a measure of how students compare, across 8 key subjects, with national trends of progress.
This year our Progress 8 is not really comparable to previous years because our students do an exam in Year 10 and the rules this year mean that, although the grade counts for students, it does not count for the school results as it was done under the Teacher Assessed Grades system. Therefore our students have a grade missing from their Progress 8 which reduces it.

Schools have to talk about their results as a whole as that is how we are judged but the beautiful thing about results is that they are about our students.
We are always most proud of the students who have worked hard to make the most progress during their time with us. These students made the most progress out of their whole year group:
