NCW2020 Day 1: Year 8 Invite the Expert

We invited experts from different areas of employment to work with our year 8 students.

Our team of different experts were:

• A Business Coach
• A Graphic Designer
• An Electrician
• A Farmer and Entrepreneur
• A Solicitor
• A Human Resources Manager
• A Carpenter and Joiner
• A Director of a local Design and Print Company

Our Year 8 students had the opportunity to question our experts about the job that they do now as well as their career journey to get to this point.  Students also really enjoyed the chance to hear about a variety of different types of jobs. One message that came through really strongly was importance of developing ‘employability skills’ such as ‘self-management’, ‘problem solving’ and ‘communication’ in order to be successful in whatever career you pursue.
